These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SMS community notification service operated by Hamevaser of Chicago ("we", "us", "our"). By opting in, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Hamevaser of Chicago sends community announcements, event reminders, minyan and shiur updates, and important notices via SMS to opted-in members of the Chicago Jewish community.

2. Opt-In and Consent

You may opt in by texting JOIN to our number, submitting the form at hamevaserofchicago.com/join, or signing a printed sign-up sheet at a community event. By opting in you consent to receive recurring SMS messages from Hamevaser of Chicago.

3. Message Frequency, Rates & Carriers

  • Message frequency varies based on community activity.
  • Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier's plan.
  • We are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages caused by your carrier.
  • Supported carriers include all major U.S. carriers; T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and their affiliates are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

4. Help and Cancellation

  • Reply HELP at any time for assistance, or email info@hamevaserofchicago.com.
  • Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts.

5. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide only your own mobile number, or a number you are authorized to enroll.
  • Notify us if you change or give up your number.
  • Do not use the service to send unlawful, abusive, or harassing content in replies.

6. Privacy

Your information is handled according to our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share your mobile number with third parties for marketing purposes.

7. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Hamevaser of Chicago is not responsible for typographical errors, missed events, or reliance on any single message. Always confirm times and locations through official community channels.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hamevaser of Chicago shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
